All nine cells went down — not over a week, but over fifteen hours
Whiteout Survival, Kingshot and Last War lost ground in all nine cells across Korea, the US and Japan. We first published this as a week-over-week move. The two readings are Sunday night and Monday afternoon — fifteen hours apart. So what this piece shows is a single day, not a week.
Ranks and moves are read directly from the Apple App Store grossing charts (games). The two readings compared here were taken on Sunday 16 August at 22:47 and Monday 17 August at 13:52 (KST) — fifteen hours and four minutes apart. This is not a week-over-week comparison. Arrows are rank up (▲) / down (▼).
Whiteout Survival, Kingshot and Last War lost rank in all nine cells across three countries. Not one cell went up. But this did not happen over a week — the two readings are fifteen hours apart.
All nine cells point down
One game slipping in one country is common. The same three slipping in three countries at once is a different story. But if it happened overnight, the likelier reading is that the chart counts a weekend differently from a weekday, rather than three countries cooling together. These two readings cannot settle which.

Two cells lost more than rank. Kingshot in Japan and Last War in Korea were pushed out of the top 15 entirely.
The two titles the earlier reading flagged as new entries are out of the top 15 fifteen hours later — 🇺🇸 Total Battle · 🇰🇷 PUBG Mobile.
Nine cells moved the same way. Between them is one night.
The publisher's slot count did not move
Count titles instead of ranks and something else appears. In the same reading where Whiteout and Kingshot came down, the same publisher's merge title sits in the top 15 in Korea and the US. Century Games still holds three slots on both charts.

Korea's top 15 holds three merge titles — Gossip Harbor at #3, Tasty Travels at #14, Seaside Escape at #15. The same count as idle. Whether Tasty Travels was a one-visit title is answered in our 2026-W36 report, which stitches together three properly spaced readings: it went 14th, 13th, 11th. Merge economics are covered in the Gossip Harbor deep dive.
Tasty Travels, Gardenscapes and Hololive Dreams are titles newly visible in the August 17th reading. The previous reading is fifteen hours earlier, so we do not pin down when they entered.
Only Japan went the other way
On survival alone, the three countries moved together. Outside it, Japan went the other way. Puzzle & Dragons, a faller in the earlier reading, climbed from 12th to 8th inside the same fifteen hours.

Two weeks ago, half of Japan's top 15 was Western casual. In the August 17th reading, 6 gacha titles stand in that space — Fate/Grand Order #1 · Monster Strike #2 · Pokémon TCG Pocket #6 · Puzzle & Dragons #8 · Suikoden STAR LEAP #12 · Hololive Dreams #15. Korea and the US hold zero. That is a snapshot of one day's line-up rather than a change, so the fifteen-hour problem does not touch it.
- Source — Apple App Store official charts (games, top 15 per country), quoted as published.
- When — two readings: Sunday 16 August at 22:47 and Monday 17 August at 13:52 (KST), fifteen hours and four minutes apart.
- This is not a week-over-week comparison — the arrows here cover one day, not one week. For weekly spacing see 2026-W36, where the readings are seven days apart.
- What is compared — only the titles the earlier reading tracked, so it does not mean the whole top 15 moved this way.
- Rank is not revenue — nothing here tells you the gap between #1 and #5.
- We have not written why — whether this is a weekend-to-weekday effect or a real decline, two readings cannot settle.
- Genre labels are ours and count entries, not revenue share. Full method and limits are in our data methodology. We do not reproduce game art or review text.
Correction (2026-09-19) — this piece first ran describing the gap between the two readings as “about six days” and read the moves as a weekly trend. The actual gap is fifteen hours and four minutes (16 Aug 22:47 → 17 Aug 13:52 KST). Every passage that treated this as a week — such as “last week this table pointed up everywhere, this week only the direction flipped” — has been rewritten. The numbers in the table did not change; what changed is our account of what they measure. For the same reason we removed the August 16th reading from the Pokémon GO and Kingshot deep dives and from 2026-W36.
