The most active game isn't gacha — it's MONOPOLY GO!
867 weekly reviews — busier than any gacha in this series. We read the live-service that turned a board-game IP into an addiction loop, with data.
Grossing rank cites Apple's official chart (measured); activity, rating, keywords are MinMix estimates from Google reviews (relative/trend).
On activity (weekly review inflow) alone, the hottest game in this data lab isn't gacha. Scopely's MONOPOLY GO! runs at 867 a week, nearly double Genshin (455). It's #1 grossing in the US too.
The activity monster — it dwarfs gacha
Add Whiteout and Royal Match to nine gacha titles and rank by activity: the top is all casual. Monopoly Go stands alone, with top-gacha Genshin below it.
The most-played game is the simplest game.
The addiction loop — yet satisfaction holds
Monopoly Go's complaint isn't as blunt as Whiteout's. Recent rating is a solid 4.04 (4.6 overall). Instead, the low-star keyword is dice — the fatigue with the loop: when your dice (energy) run out, you wait or you buy.
If Whiteout is the ‘pay to win’ pressure type, Monopoly Go is the ‘one more round’ habit type. The friction shows up less as low stars and more as sky-high activity that keeps players coming back. That's how this genre makes money.
What happened next — it was not a single reading
Writing this in August 2026, we passed over “#1 grossing in the US” in a single line. Since then we have taken the Apple grossing charts once a week, five times, and checked again.

A separate record on a different cadence from the weekly readings, so it has its own table.
Apart from 2nd place on August 17th, that is four firsts in a row. All three daily readings are #1 as well. It was not a number caught at one moment; it was a seat being held.
Over the same five readings, Korea's #1 changed hands three times. Lay the same weeks over the two countries and one turns over weekly while the other does not move at all. Why, the chart cannot establish, so we do not claim it.
Four firsts in a row. Korea changed hands three times in the same weeks.
But this is a US story
One thing to add. Across the same five readings, Monopoly Go was never in the Korean or Japanese top 15.
What this piece called “the most active game” rested on Google review estimates, a number that does not separate countries. Grossing charts do come out per country. Overlaid, it reads like this — the people touching it are spread wide, but of the three countries we read, the only one where it appears in the grossing top 15 is the US.
